When Apparity discovers files, it tries to find other similar files that indicate they are copies of the same EUCA. Apparity calls these "groups", which can be comprised of many copies of the same file (e.g., a monthly file might have 12 different copies each year, but it is still the same EUCA). All files that are found via the Discovery process are found in the Apparity Inventory Management System (AIMS), but the specific location varies on the status of the file's group.
- Grouped with Managed/Registered: If the file is grouped with a file (or files) that is already managed/registered in Apparity, the information of that file is accessed via the Managed/Registered grid (via File Copies link in File Name column on UI or via the Structrual Complexity file selection drop-down). More information on how to interact with these files can be found in the Managed/Registered Inventory section of this guide.
- Grouped with Unregistered: If the file is grouped with a file (or files) previously discovered, none of which are managed/registered, the new file copy is added to that group in the Unregistered inventory. More information on how to interact with these files can be found in the Unregistered Inventory section of this guide.
- New Group: If the file is not grouped with any file previously discovered/managed, a new group is created in the Unregistered inventory. More information on how to interact with these files can be found in the Unregistered Inventory section of this guide.
